Frequently asked Orthodontic questions
Q: Why should I see an Orthodontist
Whether you are a child, teen or an adult you can benefit from Orthodontic treatment because an Orthodontist can
• Improve aesthetics for a better smile and facial appearance
• Improve function of teeth
• Improve self-confidence and self-esteem
• Improve overall oral health and helps improve gingival and periodontal health.
Q: How much does an Orthodontic treatment cost
At Coral Orthodontics Dr. Adusumilli offers Orthodontics treatment at most affordable cost. The office most likely will beat any price in the neighboring areas for the same treatment. Dr. Adusumilli believes that an ever lasting healthy beautiful smile does not have to come at a very high cost. Even though every patient end goal is a beautiful healthy smile each patient starting point is different and so treatment choice and duration may vary. Some are very easy cases and some may take several months to years to treat. So its not possible to give a price without examining the patient. Dr. Adusumilli will go over various treatment options including Invisalign during free consultation. Most insurances may cover the treatment cost or at least partially. Patients can also choose to pay in low monthly installments or choose to avail great financing options.
Q: Does dental insurance cover Orthodontic treatment
Yes, most dental plans do cover Orthodontics treatment, if not full cost at least part of it. Our office accepts most major dental insurances. Please call and our friendly staff can check with your insurance and provide you information about your coverage.
Q: Can I use money from my flexible spending account (FSA) to pay for orthodontic treatment?
Yes, you can use flexible spending account (FSA) funds to pay for part or all of your orthodontic treatment. If you have insurance, an FSA can bridge the gap to pay what insurance does not cover. If you do not have insurance, an FSA can be used to pay for your treatment.
Q: If my teeth have been crooked for years, Why do I need orthodontic treatment now?
A: There’s no time like the present, and healthy teeth can be moved at any age. Orthodontic treatment can create or restore good function, and teeth that work better usually look better, too. A healthy, beautiful smile can improve self-esteem, no matter your age.
Q: I am pregnant and want to begin orthodontic treatment. Is this OK?
A: As pregnancy brings on bodily changes that may affect the mouth, soft tissues such as gums become much more susceptible to infection. Dr. P will discuss with your OBGYN/physician/healthcare professional before you start any orthodontic treatment.
Q: Can I play sports while wearing braces?
A: Yes, but make sure you wear a protective mouthguard. At Coral Orthodontics you can get a custom mouthguard while you are under orthodontic treatment or not. Its very important that you protect your teeth with a mouthguard at every practice and every game.
Q: Can I play musical instruments while wearing braces?
A: With practice and a period of adjustment, braces typically do not interfere with the playing of wind or brass instruments.
